This article present comparison of 11 different algorithms used for calculation of topographic wetness index (TWI), with respect to its application in vegetation ecology. We found that the choice of an algorithm had a considerable effect on TWI performance. Moreover, we found consistent performance of individual algorithms in different regions. Therefore, we were able to provide researches with guidelines for chosing the most appropriate algorithms for their purposes.
