Článek poskytuje základní informace o Slovníku pomístních jmen na Moravě a ve Slezsku. Podává základní charakteristiku slovníku, představuje jeho koncepci, základní typy hesel a jejich výstavbu, poukazuje na výhody elektronického zpracování slovníků a na kompatibilitu moravského a slezského materiálu s materiálem na Slovensku.

The article introduces new project of the electronic Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian anoikonyms (DMSA) which in being compiled at the Department of dialectology of the Institut of the CL of the AS CR in Brno as a parallel to the Dictionyry of minor place names in Bohemia, compiled as the Department of onomastic of the same institute in Prag. The article accounts for the reasons leading to the compilation of the Dictionary (most notably the unique material and theoretical and methodological conception of the Czech onomastic school) and highlights linguistic interconnections, especially the Czech-German connection reflected in Moravian and Silesian anoikonymy. It describes the basic characteristics of the Dictionary, which is dominated by material analysis and the onomastic interpretation of names comprising numerous dialectal forms. It introduces the basis types of entries, outlines their structure and adds some entries (incl. the maps) to demonstrate the conception of the DMSA.
