This is a survey paper on some recent results concerning the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Navier-Stokes-Fourier system describing the time evolution of a viscous, compressible, and heat conducting fluid. In particular, we analyze the behavior of solutions for large times and perform scale analysis in certain regimes.
