Iris M. Young is one of the leading social and political theorists of the second half of the 20th century. However, she did not synthesise her work into a comprehensive theory. The author of this article systematically reconstructs Iris M. Young's theoretical approaches and concepts, connecting her analysis of injustice, difference, democracy and gender into one coherent theoretical framework. Particularly the author develops a feminist reading of Iris M. Young's social and political theory which provides a theoretical framework for global gender justice. The author identifies how Young's approach to gender and inclusive democracy develops out of her critique of injustice. The author goes on to illuminates Young's critical theory of gender. In the final part the author applies Young´s discussion of structural injustice at a transnational level to contemporary challenges of global gender injustice, thus expanding Young´s theoretical arguments.
