The model of the test bladed wheel with friction elements was numerically and experimentally investigated for vibration suppression evaluation. The dynamics and contact problem of blade couple with the friction element was modeled by a 3D FE model. The development of micro-slips and macro-slips were observed including time variant contact states at the resonant vibration of the blade couple. The results show non-linear effect of the friction coupling on the dynamics of the couple. For experimental investigation two bunches of blades with friction elements implemented into the bladed disk led to a wheel mistuning with double periodicity. Electromagnetic excitation with sweep excitation was used for the wheel excitation under revolution. Optimal excitation frequency ranges were ascertained for evaluation of frequency response functions (FRF) and identification of split wheel eigenvalues. The damping ratios were used for assessment of the efficiency of dry friction of the elements on the wheel damping.
