Die Autorin beschreibt zuerst den Lebenslauf von Eduard Albert, einem Arzt, Chirurgen, Universitätprofessor, Wissenschaftler, Übersetzer, Mäzen und Lobbyist. Weiter sie schildert ausführlich sein Mäzenatentum auf dem Gebiet der tschechischen Literatur, der Wissenschaft und der bildenden Künste. Neben der direkten finanziellen Unterstützung einzelner Personen investierte Albert auch bedeutende Summen in die Herausgabe der Arbeiten über tschechische Literatur und Geschichte und in Übersetzungen tschechischer Poesie ins Deutsche. Sehr viel tat er auch für seine Heimatstadt Žamberk (Senftenberg). Er vergass aber auch nicht die, die ihm auf dem Weg zum Erfolg geholfen haben – seine Lehrer an der Wiener Universität Carl von Rokitanski, Josef Škoda a Johann von Dumreicher; er finanzierte ihre Büsten, die in den Arkaden der Wiener Universität plaziert wurden. Zum Schluss analysiert die Autorin die Beziehung Alberts zur Böhmischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Künste.

The author describes the life of Eduard Albert, physician, surgeon, university teacher, researcher, translator, benefactor and pro-Czech lobbyist. She details his support of Czech literature, science and fine art. Albert helped many people personally and gave large ammount of money for publishing the works on Czech history and for translations of Czechs poetry into German. He did a lot of work for his native town Žamberk. He also expressed his gratitude to his teachers at Vienna University C. von Rokitanski, J. Škoda a J. von Dumreicher and paid for their busts placed in the arcades of the university. At the end, the author explains the relationship of Eduard Albert towards Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts.
