This paper describes tests on 46 brick masonry panels, plain or strengthened with the use of either composite plastic strips or polymer nets, subjected to combinated vertical compression pre-stress and a horizontal loading acting at the top of the panels (shear stress). The main results are discussed, and conclusions are presented on the practical application of such a reinforcement in damage retrofitting or in anti-earthquake protective measures.
