    The paper describes the differences in tolerance of pathogenic Candida species to alkali-metal-cation salts. C. parapsilosis and C. albicans are the most tolerant and C. dubliniensis and C. glabrata rather sensitive yeast species. In contrast to the model yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the intracellular K+/Na+ ration does not reflect the level of salt tolerance
