This paper is focused on the interaction of a synthetic jet array with a laminar channel flow. The study is predominantly experimental, with supporting numerical simulations. Measurements of the flow field and of the mass transfer on the wall have been performed with water and air as working fluids (using flow visualization, PIV, and naphthalene sublimation). The present results confirmed that the channel flow can be effectively controlled by means of the synthetic jet array, and heat/mass transfer can be enhanced.
