V knize jsou zkoumány osudy Vražkova, malé obce na úpatí hory Řípu ve středních Čechách od počátků lidského osídlení v tomto regionu až po současnost. Podrobně jsou zkoumány osudy obce v 17. století, kdy v průběhu třicetileté války byla celý region Podřipska pravidelně devastován průchody armád. Vražkov byl zničen, zbylé obyvatelstvo se rozprchlo do širokého okolí. Teprve několik let po skončení dlouhé války byla obec postupně osidlována, rekonstruována a rozběhl se její ekonomický život. Obec ve středověku a až do r. 1848 spadala pod několik různých panství, což si vyžádalo větší badatelské úsilí. Kniha je vybavena rozsáhlou obrazovou a fotografickou dokumentací.

The aim of this book is the history of Vražkov, of the small village on the outcome of mountain Říp in the central Bohemia since the beginning of humane inhabitation up to the our times. The fate of this village is in detail researched especially in the 17th century; in the course of thirty years war was the region of mountain Říp and surrounding villages regularly destroyed by the marching of armies, the last population was needed to flee out in the whole region. Just some years after the end of the long war was the village against step by step inhabited, reconstructed and its economical life was started again. Village was in medieval time up to the 1848, divided in the more feudal properties, so the authors had to make a complicated research. The book is accompanied by the large picture and photo documentation.
