The contribution deals with the wireless control communication based on ZigBee protocol. At the beginning, there is a brief outline of the possible ways of the data transfer and acquisition in general. Then, the ZigBee communication protocol used for full bidirectional wireless data transfer is presented. The ZigBee is a one of advanced communication protocols for the automation. The realization of the communication with addition of infrared monitoring is demonstrated in mechatronic manipulation system. In conclusion, there is a discussion of the main features and possibilities of the presented wireless communication at the application to the full closed-loop control of heterogenous, distributed mechatronic systems.
