Detailed description of MSWI plant technology equipped with fly ash acid extraction for heavy metals wash-out is presented in study. Composition of solid residuals, contents of minor and trace elements and chemical-physical properties are also summarized in the study. Some trends of ash properties are concluded, effect of MSWI technology and point of fly ash separation from flue gases are discussed. Given MSWI plant technology minimizes some environmental risks and negative properties of fly ashes (heavy metals leachability, fly ashes solubility); therefore, mixture of acid extracted fly ashes with bottom ash is used for production of material applicable as bed construction layer for carriageways, mounds or backfills.
