Mechanical vibrations of electrically polar structures are fundamental mechanism of generation of the electromagnetic field (EMF) in living cells. Overview of the experiments showing existence of the vibrations on the cellular level by measurements with various techniques is given; some of the recent theoretical and experimental achievements of the authors' group are also presented.
