This contribution reviews the state of the art in the development of SPR (bio)sensor technology and presents selected results of research into SPR biosensors at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Prague. The developments discussed in detail include a miniature fiber optic SPR sensor of localized measurements, a compact SPR sensor for field use and a multichannel SPR sensor for high-throughput screening
