A detailed biochemical and molecular biophysics study of the molecular mechanism of action of a new dinuclear PtII complex [{PtCl(1,2-diaminocyclohexane)}2-my-Y]4+, resistant to decomposition by sulfur nucleophiles, was reported herein. The results show that this complex exhibits promising antitumor features as its DNA adducts can largely escape repair and inhibit very effectively transcription.
