Příspěvek se zabývá evolucí slovanských názvů perel biser, perla a žemčug, které se na slovanské území dostaly společně s orientálními obchodníky. Rekonstrukce sémantického vývoje názvů může pomoci rekonstrukci slovanských raně středověkých obchodních kontaktů.
The paper deals with the evolution of the Slavic names for pearls biser, perla and žemčug, which came to the Slavic territory along with oriental tradesmen. The reconstruction of their semantic development can help with reconstruction of the early medieval trading contacts of the Slavs.
