Od roku 1974 Davidson opakovaně – a radikálně – zpochybňoval možnost empiristického pojetí epistemologie. Předložil tři různé argumenty proti této koncepci, které se v předložené studii snažím představit a stručně je okomentovat.

From 1974 onwards, Davidson has repeatedly – and radically – questioned the viability of the empiricist conception of epistemology. He has put forward three distinct arguments against this conception; I expound and briefly comment upon these in the present paper.
