V příspěvku jsou uvedeny koncepční podobnosti a rozdíly antického mechanismu z Antikythéry a středověkých orlojů. Dále je vysvětlen lunisolární kalendář užitý na mechanismu a matematická metoda aproximace iracionálních poměrů kalendářních period racionálními čísly.
The similarities and differences between the ancient Antikythera mechanism and medieval astronomical clocks are given. The lunisolar calendar used on the mechanism is explained as well as the mathematical method of approximating the irrational ratios of calendaric periods by rational numbers.
