Článek je kritickou analýzou vztahu mezi metafyzikou a filosofií literární interpretace, které nabízí Petr Koťátko ve své knize INTERPRETACE A SUBJEKTIVITA. Koťátko hájí v metafyzice přímočarý realismus ve smyslu nezávislosti světa na jazyce proti jazykovému konstruktivismu. Ve filosofii literatury obhajuje rozdíl mezi textem a literárním dílem, přičemž se ukazuje, že existence díla je spoluurčena interpretační aktivitou. V článku upozorňuji na napětí mezi Koťátkovou obecnou metafyzikou a jeho pojetím literárního díla.

The papeper is a critical analysis of a relation between metaphysics and the philosophy of literary interpretation, offered by Petr Koťátko in his book INTERPRETACE A SUBJEKTIVITA [Interpretation and Subjectivity]. In his metaphysics, Koťátko defends a straightforward realism, in the sense of an independence of the world on language, against a linguistic constructivism. In his philosophy of literature, he defends a distinction between text and literary work, while showing that the existence of the work is partly determined by interpretive activity. In the paper, I point out a tension between Koťátko's general metaphysics and his conception of the literary work.
