Pedagogové se ve svých školních třídách setkávají s žáky a žákyněmi, kteří se v určitých sociálních situacích projevují z normativního genderového hlediska spíše jako příslušníci opačného pohlaví. Pokud uvedené chování není provázeno dalšími potížemi, není důvodem k přímé pedagogické ani terapeutické intervenci. U těchto žáků existuje větší pravděpodobnost homosexuální orientace nebo transsexuality, závažnější je zde ovšem riziko homofobně orientované viktimizace ze strany spolužáků. Vzhledem k tomu by měli pedagogové rozvíjet větší otevřenost a toleranci k alternativnímu genderovému sebepojetí i k homosexuální orientaci u žáků ve všech školních třídách

Every educator meets in his/her classroom some students who behave in certain social situations, from the normative gender viewpoint, more like subjects of the opposite gender. Without the presence of any other disorders, such behavior should not be considered as a reason for direct intervention, neither educational nor therapeutic. However, a more substantial problem is their risk of homophobic victimization in the group of classmates. Considering the probability that some student, actually experiencing the coming out process, attends each classroom, educators should encourage their students to greater openness and tolerance toward alternative gender identities as well as toward homosexual orientation.
