Dotazníkový průzkum proběhl v letním semestru roku 2008 a zahrnoval šetření na čtyřech katedrách archeologie v České republice. Cílem výzkumu bylo získat obraz vnímání archeologie a její univerzitní výuky na základě názorů studentů archeologie. Testovány byly hypotézy týkající se rozdílů v pojetí archeologie a jejího metodologického základu na sledovaných katedrách, ovlivnění studentů katedrou a chápání archeologie jako součásti historických, nebo antropologických (sociálních) věd.

The questionnaire survey was conducted during the summer semester of 2008 and comprised coverage at four university archaeology departments in the Czech Republic. The aim of the survey was to obtain an image of the perception of archaeology and university instruction in this discipline on the basis of the opinions of archaeology students. The hypotheses tested concerned the differences in the concept of archaeology and its methodological foundation at the surveyed departments, the departments' influence on students and the understanding of archaeology as part of the historical or anthropological (social) sciences.
