Albeit rapacuronium decreases affinity of acetylcholine under equilibrium conditions it accelerates acetylcholine binding. This results in potentiation of receptor activation by acetylcholine at low concentrations of rapacuronium. These observations highlight the necessity of performing functional tests under non-equilibrium conditions that resemble physiological conditions
