Interpretace posledního románu Jiřího Weila Na střeše je Mendelssohn má nejen připomenout autorovy zásluhy ve fikčním zobrazení osudu českých Židů, ale také popsat a ocenit jeho příspěvek k vývoji moderní české prózy, a to zvláště narativních metod, a to jak formou analýzy vyprávění, tak za pomoci některých aspektů intermediálních studií.

The interpretation of Weil´s last novel Na střeše je Mendelssohn is intended not only to remember his credit in the fictional representation of the ordeal of the Czech Jews but to evaluate and appreciate his contribution to the development of modern Czech fiction as well, particularly the narrative methods. This is done by means of narrative analysis as well as by employing aspects of intermedia studies.
