For the first time in the history of Czech egyptology, environmental archaeology was implemented to the excavations of the pyramid field of Abusir. Analyses of the finds of pollen, macrofossils, animal bones and remains of insects are used for the interpretation of past economy and environment.

Do výzkumů českých egyptologů v Abusíru se poprvé podařilo zapojit přírodovědné metody - pylovou analýzu, analýzu rostlinných makrozbytků, zvířecích kostí a subfosilního hmyzu. Interpretace těchto nálezů je rozmanitá a souvisí s paleoekonomickou situací, stejně jako s rekonstrukcí přírodního prostředí v okolí lokality.
