Órigenés pokládal filosofii za důležitou složku výbavy theologa. Vztah úspěšného užívání filosofie teologií popisuje jako vztah mezi filosofií a enkyklickými tj. pro filosofii pomocnými vědami, varuje však před nesprávným užíváním a zdůrazňuje nutnost duchovního života. Ve vztahu k dnešku si musíme uvědomit, že celá problematika dogmatu byla vyjádřena právě jazykem filosofie a pro porozumění dogmat jím musíme umět zacházet. Dle našeho názoru tak musí být znalost filosofie ve výbavě theologa – dogmatika, ale vždy s vědomím toho, že filosofie může být zlatem bohoslužby, ale také modloslužby.

Origen considered philosophy to be an important part of theologist's facility. He describes the relation of successful use of philosophy by theology as a relation between philosophy and encyclic, i. e. for philosophy subsidiary sciences, he warns against its incorrectly use and he emphasizes necessity of spiritual life. Nowadays, in relation to present we have to realize that all problems of dogma were formulated exactly by the philosophical language and for understanding of dogma we have to be able to treat with it. Therefore, in our opinion, knowledge in philosophy must be in theologist's - dogmatist's facility, but invariably with of the fact, that philosophy can be a gold of divine service, but idolatry as well.
