Kniha představuje soubor studií zobrazujících památky, místopis, vybrané osobnosti a vybraná historická období z pohledu několika vědních oborů. Kulturní mnohovrstevnatost minulosti Líšně a jejích obyvatel umožňuje popsat její dějiny z hlediska poměrně širokého spektra humanitních a též přírodovědných disciplín. Příležitosti související s 450. výročím povýšení Líšně na městečko (1558-2008) se chopili odborníci z oboru pomocné vědy historické (diplomatika, heraldika, sfragistika, vexillologie), medievistika, historická kartografie, lingvistika (onomastika), archeologie, geologie, dějiny umění, dějiny techniky, etnografie a moderní dějiny.

This book is a collection of studies presenting the sights of interest in Líšeň, and its topography, selected personalities and historical periods from the perspective of several scientific fields. The cultural complexities of Líšeň’s past and its inhabitants made it possible to describe its history from a wide range of points of view, including the arts and natural sciences. Several experts on auxiliary sciences of history (diplomatics, heraldry, sigillography, and vexillology), medieval studies, historical cartography, linguistics (onomastics), archaeology, and geology, history of art, history of technology, ethnography, and modern history grasped the opportunity associated with 450th anniversary of Líšeň being promoted to a market-town (1558–2008).
