The paper deals with general purpose air-insulated high voltage supply for middle-power EB or X-ray generators. The device is intended for diode or triode systems with direct filament heating cathodes. Output current is up to 33 mA at 60 kV. More supplies can operate in parallel to increase output power. The high voltage generator is proved to sustain over-current and arcing. The output ripple andthe long term stability are better than 100 ppm at full load. The weight of the complete supply, which is built-in standard 19"/6U housing, is less than 20 kg.
