Hlavním tématem článku jsou jazykové stereotypy (fráze, klišé), které dominují vyjadřování postav v hrách Václava Havla – včetně poslední hry „Odcházení“. Kromě frázovitosti zdůrazňuje článek zvláště intertextualitu, která spojuje Havlův text s velkými hrami světového repertoáru (Král Lear, Višňový sad, Čekání na Godota aj.).

The article gives an analysis of cliché-ridden, stereotype speech of personages in the plays of Václav Havel, including his last play „Leaving“. The second main topic of the analysis is the intertextuality which puts this play into the context of playwriting around the world (references to King Lear, Cherry Orchard, Waiting for Godot, etc.).
