Autor se v tomto polemickém článku vyrovnává s recenzí Piotra Majewského na svou knihu In the Shadow of Munich: British Policy towards Czechoslovakia from the Endorsement to the Renunciation of the Munich agreement, 1938-1942 (Praha, Karolinum Press, 2008), jež byla otištěna v časopise Soudobé dějiny č. 1/2009. Článek ukazuje, že recenzentovy výtky vyplývají z jeho ledabylého čtení, neznalostí či z obojího. Autor se dále ohrazuje proti recenzentovu nálepkování jeho práce jako revizionistické a jako pokusu překonat "český pohled". Tyto termíny jsou v kontextu současné české historiografie stěží udržitelné.

In this polemical article the author takes issue with Piotr Majewski’s review of his book, In the Shadow of Munich: British Policy towards Czechoslovakia from the Endorsement to the Renunciation of the Munich agreement, 1938-1942 (Prague, Karolinum Press, 2008) which appeared in Soudobé dějiny, no. 1/2009. The article shows that the reviewer’s reproaches follow his lax reading or ignorance or both. The author further defends himself against the reviewer’s labeling of his work as "revisionist" and as an attempt to overcome the "Czech view". These terms are hardly sustainable in the context of the current Czech historiography.
