Binary potassium glass was irradiated with 2.5 MeV electrons, the tickness was chosen so as electrons stopped near the back surface. After the depletion from potassium induced by irradiation the volume changes were studied and revealed the top surface is closer to the pristine glass than the back one.
Binární draselno-křemenné sklo bylo ozářeno elektrony o energii 2,5 MeV a tloušťka byla zvolena tak, aby se elektrony zastavily v blízkosti zadního povrchu. Po ochuzení od draslíku v důsledku ozáření byly studovány změny objemu a ukázalo se, že přední povrch je bližší původnímu sklu než zadní povrch.
