Kapitola se zabývá interakcemi mezi různými částmi zemského systému jako jsou vnitřní síly Země, hydrosféra, biosféra a klimatickým vlivem okolního vesmíru, který se projevuje zejména změnami sluneční činnosti. Upozorňuje na postupné i náhlé klimatické změny a na jejich roli při kolapsech civilizací.

The chapter deals with interactions among individual parts of the Earth system such as endogenetic processes, hydrosphere, biospehere and with the influence of the nearby Univesrse represented basically by insolation changes. It is focused on the complex interrelations of the biogeochemical cycles and the climate role in collapses of previous civilisations.
