Glava posveščena poslednim dostiženijam v modelirovaniji elektromagnitnych polej v anizotropnych strukturach Zemli. My vvodim magnitotelluričeskuju (MT) model s proizvolnoj anizotropijej, proizvodim kratkij obzor metodov modelirovanija (MT) polej v anizotropnych strukturach Zemli i boleje detalno opisyvajem osnovnyje etapy čislennogo modelirovanija dlja slučaja dvumernych anizotropnych provodnikov. Rassmatrivajutsja neskolko charakternych modelnych situacij, kotoryje illjustrirujut vozmožnosť pojavlenija zametnych iskaženij geomagnitnych indukcionnych i MT dannych svjazannych s anizotropnymi strukturami. Dlja etich situacij my provodim sopostavlenije rezultatov rasčotov na osnove sintetičeskich modelej s eksperimentalnymi dannymi elektromagnitnych zondirovanij v zonach verojatnoj anizotropiji, obuslovlennoj specifičeskimi tektoničeskimi uslovijami.

The chapter is devoted to the advances in the modelling of electromagnetic fields in anisotropic Earth’s structures. We introduce the MT model with arbitrary anisotropy, briefly summarize methods for the modelling of MT fields in anisotropic Earth’s structures, and show the basic steps of the numerical modelling for 2 D anisotropic conductors in more detail. Then we deal with a few specific model situations that illustrate possible significant distortions of the MT and geomagnetic induction data by anisotropic structures. For those situations, we confront predictions from the synthetic models with experimental electromagnetic sounding data from localities where the anisotropy is likely to occur due to a specific tectonic setting.
