The spatial distribution of parasite communities from six teleost fishes was studied in the Bonifacio Strait Marine Reserve (Corsica Island). Canonical correspondence analysis was used to study spatial patterns and to quantify the importance of site influence on parasite communities. Several parasite species were associated with a specific site, and some of them were considered as site bioindicators. However, the relative abundance of fish followed a different spatial pattern. The parasite distribution seemed not to be influenced by the protection status of the site. The most important factor influencing their distribution was host specificity.

Prostorové rozšíření společenstev parazitů šesti mořských ryb bylo studováno v přírodní rezervaci úžiny Bonifacio na Korsice. Kanonická analýza byla použita ke studiu rozšíření a kvantifikaci významu různých lokalit na společenstva parazitů. Několik druhů parazitů se vyskytovala jen na omezeném počtu lokalit a lze je tak považovat za indikátory konkrétní lokality. Relativní četnost však ukázala jinou zákonnitost. Rozšíření parazitů se nezdá být ovlivněno statutem ochrany dané lokality. Nejdůležitějším faktorem ovlivňujívím rozšíření parazitů je hostitelská specificita.
