Alatively dense stock combined with unfavourable physical and chemical parameters of water in rearing troughs were described as factors predisposing the outbreak of infection of Capriniana piscium in rainbow trouts (Oncorhynchus mykiss). High water temperature (20–21.4°C), high pH and low concentration of oxygen was considered the main factor predisposing the outbreak of rainbow trout capriniosis. Bacteriological, virological and parasitological examination did not suggest involvement of any other component cause of infection.
