Příspěvek mapuje dílčí otázku Slavíkovy odborné činnosti, a sice jeho vztah k předrevolučnímu Rusku, jak v tématech politických, tak kulturně historických. Tato problematika představovala s ohledem na základ Slavíkovy práce jakousi přípravnou fázi k ústředním pracím, věnovaným revolučnímu a porevolučnímu vývoji Sovětského Ruska.

The contribution mapps sub-question of Slavík's professional activities, namely his relationship to Tsarist Russia, both in issues of politics and cultural history. These problems represented with respect to the base of Slavík's work a preparatory part to his pivotal work devoted to the revolutionary and postrevolutionary development in the Soviet Russia.
