V knize se autoři zabývají vztahem mezi kreativitou, duševními poruchami a sebevraždou. Suicidium umělců objasňují například pomocí konceptů regrese ve službě ega, nesnesitelné psychické bolesti, prototypické scény, apod. Jsou zachycena témata a motivy, které zřejmě formovaly individuální sebevražedný vývoj autorek: téma smrti, významných druhých, vztahu k self, vyrovnávání se s perverzním světem a zejména pak touhy po sebetranscendenci a mumifikaci self.

In the book the authors are concerned with the relationships among creativity, mental illnesses and suicide. Suicide of artists is explained by menas of several theoretical approaches, e.g. regression in the service of ego, unbearable pain, prototypical scene, etc. The themes and motives, that might have formed the individual suicidal process in each of the author’s lives, are revealed: the death theme, significant others, relationship to self, coping with a perverse world and especially desire of self transcendence and mummification of self.
