    Hemolin, believed to function in hemolymph as an opsonin, is expressed in the silk glands of larvae either before pupation or after application of exogenous 20-hydroxyecdysone, or in in response to bacterial challenge. Hemolin is deposited in the cocoon silk.

    Hemolin je hmyzí krevní protein považovaný za opsonin. Je produkován ve snovacích žlázách larev, které se kuklí přirozeně nebo po aplikaci 20-hydroxyekdysteronu, a také u larev, které dostanou injekci bakterií. Hemolin je deponován v hedvábí kokonu.
