The objectives of publication were following: to describe the current state of play in Europe in forest weed management practices, to identify and survey the major European forest weed species, to evaluate forest ecosystem responses to different weed management techniques and regimes and answer the question if there is a space for biological weed control? In addition, publication tries to ascertain whether the public is involved in the weed management decisions in European forests. Our chapter deals with a situation in the Czech Republic.
