Kniha poprvé přesně bibliograficky určuje všechny české kompletní Nové zákony vypracované a poprvé publikované v daném období (1900–1961). Shromažďuje informace o překladatelích, spolupracovnících a přepracovatelích. Prezentuje důležité momenty související se vznikem jednotlivých překladů a jejich následným uplatněním, precizuje předlohy pro překlad, na základě srovnávacích analýz vyjasňuje vztahy mezi edicemi i mezi texty překladů navzájem a stanoví významné jazykové charakteristiky výsledných českých textů.

The book for the first time identifies in exact bibliographical way all editions of the integral Czech New Testament prepared and published for the first time in the delimited period (1990–1961). It also collects information about individual translators, collaborators and those who rewrote the translations. It presents crucial moments related to the genesis of individual translations and their subsequent use, it specifies in detail possible drafts for a certain translation, it clarifies relations among editions and among the texts of the translations themselves on the basis of comparative analyses and it identifies significant linguistic properties of resulting Czech texts.
