V prvním příkladu, kdy se jedná o pragmatické pojetí pojmu Východ-Západ v publicistice 19. stol., za východisko studie posloužil historicky uzavřený model německého periodika Ost und West vycházejícího v Praze v letech 1837-1848. Druhý příklad - od ideologie k ekonomice - dokumentuje z historického hlediska (geo)politické snahy německých konzervativních revolucionářů a odkazuje na paralely mezi jejich učením a ruským Eurasijstvím. Tuto část uzavírá stručný přehled organizací a studijních programů založených primárně na ekonomické ose mezi zeměmi bývalého Východního bloku a zbytkem Evropy. Třetí část českému čtenáři přibližuje monumentální edici „West-östliche Spiegelungen“ (jedná se o analýzu rusko-německých literárních a kulturních vztahů viděných v zrcadlovém pohledu). Rusko-německé vztahy oscilující od přijímání k odmítání, idealizované i traumatizující jsou typickým příkladem vztahu mezi Východem a Západem.

In the first example (the pragmatic use of this concept in 19th century journalism), the study is based on the historically closed model of the Prague German periodical Ost und West from the years 1837-1848. Second example: from ideology to economics. The historically (geo)political efforts of German conservative revolutionaries are shown and reference is made to the parallels of their teaching to the Russian Eurasian attitude. At the end of the section there is a short overview of organisations, study programmes based primarily on the economic axis between the countries of the former Eastern bloc and the rest of Europe. The third part expounds to the Czech recipient the monumental edition of "West-östliche Spiegelungen" (analysis of the Russian-German literary and cultural relations as mutual mirroring). The Russian-German realtionships, in their spiral of accepting and rejecting, idealisation and trauma are an example of the "East-West" relation par excellence.
