    We introduce a hypothesis that obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is primarily caused by an inherited reduced adaptability of upper airway striated muscles which can not maintain patency when there is reduced consciousness and that this reduced ability is caused by a deficiency of the genes for specific myosin heavy chain (MHC) proteins

    V této hypotéze předpokládáme, že syndrom obstrukční spánkové apnoe je primárně způsoben vrozeně sníženou schopností adaptability příčně pruhovaných svalů horních cest dýchacích, které nejsou schopny udržet jejich dostetečný průsvit ve stavu snížené bdělosti a že tato snížená schopnost je způsobena deficitem genů pro specifické MHC proteiny.
