Hydroacoustic counting and a three-year mark-recapture study with passive integrated transponders (PIT-tags) were used to estimate the size of a spawning population of nase Chondrostoma nasus (L.), that undertakes annual spawning migrations into a tributary of the Danube River. In 2005, the estimates of the size of the spawning population from the hydroacoustic counts and from the Jolly-Seber corresponded well. Hydroacoustics is non-invasive, it, provides real-time data on a fine temporal scale, and estimates show less variability.

Vědecký echolot a tříletý značkovací experiment s použitím passive integrated transponders (PIT-tags) byly použity pro zjištění velikosti třecího hejna ostroretky stěhovavé, Chondrostoma nasus (L.), podnikající pravidelné třecí migrace do přítoku Dunaje. V r. 2005 hydroakusticky napočítaná početnost dobře korespondovala s výpočtem početnosti metodou Jolly-Seber. Hydroakustický přístup je neinvazivní, poskytuje okamžité výsledky s vysokým časovým rozlišením a odhady mají menší variabilitu.
