Kapitola demonstruje úzký vztah mezi pedologií a archeologií. Intenzita a charakter tvorby a přeměny půd působí na zachování archeologických památek. Zároveň lidská činnost ovlivňuje kvalitu půdy a způsobuje většinu erozních a akumulačních procesů v holocénu.

The chapter illustrates a close relationship between pedological and archaeological knowledge. The soil is an archive of natural and human history. The intensity and the character of the soil forming processes influence the preservation of the archaeological finds. On the contrary human activities are the main cause of the erosion and acumulation processes and soil development in the Holocene.
