Regeneration of peat bog vegetation was faster after natural disturbances than after human-made ones. The lowest impact was caused by windthrow, followed by fire. Regeneration after peat digging was also possible, but it took much longer. Regeneration after industrial peat harvesting was possible only if the groundwater table level remained high.
