Studie sleduje roli českého kubismu v kánonu západního umění a současně vybraná klíčová díla sbírky českého kubismu v kolekci Západočeské galerie v Plzni. Vedle obrazů Emila Filly, například Láhev, sklenice a dýmka z r. 1913, Zátiší Bols a Hlava starého muže z r. 1914, jsou charakterizována protokubistická (Zátiší z chléva, 1910) a kubistická díla Bohumila Kubišty (Ateliér, 1913), plastiky Otto Gutfreunda a obrazy Václava Špály (Tři ženy u vody z r. 1919). Dále jsou zmíněny materiálově bohatá Kytice Antonína Procházky z r. 1922, zátiší Georga Karse z roku 1914 a obraz Náměsíčník Jana Zrzavého (1913), který připomíná symbolistní adaptace kubistické morfologie v českém moderním umění.

The study deals with the role of Czech Cubism in the Canon of Western Art History and simultaneously shows the key artworks of Czech Cubism from the collection of West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen. Beside the paintings of Emil Filla like Bottle, Glass and Pipe (1913), Still Life Bols and The Head of an Old Man (1914) the author concerns himself with proto-Cubists and Cubists works by Bohumil Kubišta (Still Life from the Cattle Shed, 1910; The Studio, 1913), with sculptures by Otto Gutfreund and with paintings by Václav Špála (Three Woman by the Water, 1919). There are mentioned sensually rich Still life The Bunch of Flowers from Antonín Procházka from the year 1922, Still life by Georg Kars from 1914 and the canvas The Sleepwalker from 1914 by Jan Zrzavý, which shows the Symbolist adaptation of Cubist morphology in Czech Modern art.
