The interrelation between specific .beta. nucleation, thermal history, and molecular weight of isotactic polypropylene (PP) has been investigated by wide-angle X-ray scattering, differential scanning calorimetry, and scanning electron microscopy. Samples encompassing a broad range of molecular weight allowed to describe for the first time the effect of molecular structure on nucleation efficiency.
Vztahy mezi specifickou beta nukleací, teplotní historií a molární hmotností izotaktického polypropylenu (PP) byly prozkoumány pomocí širokoúhlého rozptylu paprsků X, diferenciální skanovací kalorimetrií a skanovací elektronovou mikroskopií. Široký rozsah molárních hmotností studovaných vzorků umožnil vůbec poprvé popsat vliv molekulární struktury na účinnost nukleace.
