We examine joint effects of thesolar activity and phase of the quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) on modes of low-frequency variability of tropospheric circulation in the Northern Hemisphere in winter. The solar activity and QBO jointly affect the shapes, spatial extent, and intensity of the modes; the QBO effects are, however, generally weaker than those of solar activity.

Zkoumáme společné vlivy sluneční aktivity a fáze kvazidvouleté oscilace (QBO) na módy nízkofrekvenční proměnlivosti troposférické cirkulace na severní polokouli v zimě. Sluneční aktivita a QBO společně ovlivňují tvar, prostorový rozsah a intenzitu módů; vlivy QBO jsou však obecně slabší než vlivy sluneční aktivity.
