Central European inland vegetation dominated by Bolboschoenus species was newly classified, based on current knowledge of taxonomical differentiation of Bolboschoenus maritimus-complex. The freshwater associations inhabiting river shores and floodplains, fishponds and temporarily flooded field depressions were distinguishes as well as inland halophile plant communities. New alliance name was proposed for saline reed vegetation of continental areas.

Na základě současných znalostí taxonomického rozlišení druhů zahrnovaných dříve do komplexu Bolboschoenus maritimus byla navržena nová klasifikace rostlinných společenstev s těmito dominantními druhy ve Střední Evropě. Zahrnuje sladkovodní společenstva vyskytující se podél břehů toků i v říčních nivách, v rybnících a v dočasně zaplavovaných terénních depresích, a dále halofilní vnitrozemská společenstva. Byl navržen nový svaz pro halofilní společenstva rákosin kontinentálních oblastí.
