This paper evaluates the historical ecological evidence presented in support of the Vera Hypothesis of pre-Neolithic landscapes. It concludes that there is no direct connection between early medieval and Mesolithic landscapes, although they can be analogous. As a consequence, medieval sources are not relevant to the Vera Hypothesis.

Článek přináší zhodnocení historicko-ekologického materiálu shromážděného ve prospěch Verovy hypotézy o preneolitické krajině. Dochází k závěru, že neexistuje přímé spojení mezi raně středověkou a mezolitickou krajinou, i když si mohou být podobné. V důsledku konstatuje, že středověké prameny tedy nejsou pro Verovu hypotézu relevantní.
