Pohybové aktivity a sportování jsou jako součást trávení volného času sociálně diferencované. Příspěvek ukazuje na základě dat z let 1984, 1991 a 2007, že přes určitý nárůst celkové míry sportovní participace v České republice zde přetrvávají značné rozdíly mezi různými sociálními vrstvami. Věk a pohlaví jsou podstatnými determinanty sportovní participace, stejně tak jako vzdělání respondenta i vzdělanostní prostředí rodiny, ze které pochází.

The active sport participation as the part of a leisure time is social differentiated. This article shows that in spite of certain growth of the sport participation in the Czech Republic, persisting inequalities between sport participation of different strata still exists (based on survey data from year 1984, 1991 and 2007). Age and sex are significant determinants of the sport participation, as are also the educational level of respondent and even the educational level of his or her father.
